Addendum to Ultimate Planner by Apologia

It has just come to my attention that APOLOGIA has made a statement regarding the LDS Faith stating that it is not a Christian church. It also makes several false statements on what the LDS faith truly believes. If you wish to read it in its entirety, please click below:

As most of you know, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or as we may be more commonly known, LDS or Mormons. Jesus Christ is the very foundation of our church, as shown by His name in the name of our church. My belief in Christ and the Bible is integral to who I am as a person. I BELIEVE IN CHRIST.

As one could imagine, I am deeply saddened to see Apologia make such statements about us. And as much as I enjoyed this planner, I cannot support a publisher that has made these false statements. I do not know if the author, Debra Bell, also supports this view, but as things stand for now, I will have to look into other planners for now. 🙁

For more information on what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe, please see some of the following statements made from our church leaders regarding our deep belief in Christ as our Lord and Savior.

  1. I feel the same way you do. I was considering on purchasing a planner because it sounded and looked so good. After I read Apologia’s statement I could not in good conscience support their company.

    • Such a strange position for so many protestant churches to take. As a Mormon, I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I believe that if I do my best to follow him, and repent when I fall short, that he will save me, not because I earned it, but rather, by his infinite Grace. He is the Son of God. He created this world. And through his actions at Gethsemane, Calvary, and the tomb, he has redeemed our souls and paved the way to Eternal Life. All we must do is have faith in him, and act on that faith to bless the lives of “the least” of these, our brethren.

My favorite memory of watching NFL football as a youth was not some amazing play, or a super bowl victory. It was when I finally went and looked up that biblical reference that a few dedicated souls would always manage to prominently display at key points in the game–like behind the goal posts during a field goal attempt. The sign simply read: “John 3:16” It is one of the greatest passages of scripture ever recorded.
